How does Mice & Rat Free 130/400
™
work?
Mice & Rat Free 130/400 ™ uses a combination of
ultrasonic and electromagnetic pulses to unsettle mice and rats, creating an unbearable environment for
them. The ultrasonic signal deters them from taking up residence in the area where the device is sited, i.e. an
open area of up to 130 m
2 . The electromagnetic pulse supplements the ultrasonic effect and aims to deter
pests from using wiring as a rat run. Suitable for spaces where there is a constant mains supply because of
other electrical units.

cover all of my house? The pulses travel along live electric cables.
The powerful ultrasonic signal extends over an open area of 130 m 2 . Remember that high-frequency sound
cannot penetrate solid material, such as walls, ceilings, floors, etc.

begins to work?
A change can normally
be noticed immediately. In some cases it takes a bit longer. If the pests are already well established, you can
temporarily use traps to exterminate the old infestation.

children, cats, dogs, birds and fish. Nor does it affect other electrical equipment.

Yes, Mice & Rat Free 130/400 ™ can be
used in spaces that are damp and cold; it can also cope with dusty environments thanks to its high IP55
rating.
What does the IP55 rating mean? The IP55 rating means that the device is dustproof (first number) and
water jet proof (second number). Higher numbers mean higher protection.

, please read the following
instructions carefully:
• Plug the unit into a wall socket and it will immediately begin generating electromagnetic pulses along live
electric cables by means of the ElectroPulse Auto
™
function, and transmitting a powerful ultrasonic signal
in the space around the unit by means of the A-Frequency ™ function. The red LED comes on or flashes to
indicate that the pulse function is operating. The green LED indicates that the ultrasonic signal is operating.
• The faint ticking sound that may be heard arises when the ultrasonic frequencies being transmitted change
frequency range. The transmitted frequencies are not normally audible to humans.
• A magnetic field is automatically created around any electric cables connected to a power-consuming
device. The load should be at least 40 W to generate a sufficiently large magnetic field.
• Remember that older lead-sheathed cables have a more limited magnetic field than ordinary plastic cables.
• The pulses will spread to live cables connected to the same distribution box. If a dwelling has two
distribution boxes, two devices should be used for optimum protection.
• For optimum effect, the device has an integral function that automatically varies the electromagnetic pulses.
• High-frequency sound cannot penetrate solid objects and is absorbed by soft textiles and insulation. For
that reason, be sure to site the unit in an open space where the sound waves can flow freely. The sound will
bounce off hard surfaces. However, insulation material and soft textiles will reduce sound propagation.
• In exceptional cases, the human ear may find high-frequency sound disturbing. So site any units in areas
where they will not affect humans.
• Mice & Rat Free 130/400
™ is both dustproof and water jet proof. This means that the device can be used,
for example, in crawl spaces and other uninsulated spaces. Please note that the socket must also be rated
as IP55 in order for the rating to be maintained.
