Motor switches off whilst in use
Duty cycle exceeded. Thermal cut-out device in
operation to protect the motor
Turn off the tool and allow to fully cool. Follow instructions in ‘Duty
Cycle’
Tip of drill bit turns blue during
sharpening
Overheating
Reduce the amount of pressure and sharpening time
Cool bit in water between sharpening. Before continuing,
Make sure bit is completely dry.
One cutting edge is longer than
the other, and the point is not
centred
Uneven sharpening
To fix an unevenly sharpened bit, reinsert and sharpen the shorter side
for a little longer
To prevent this from happening sharpen both sides for the same
amount of time, applying the same amount of downward pressure
whilst sharpening
Unsatisfactory sharpening result
