Good tips for drilling
•
When drilling smooth surfaces, e.g. tiles, apply a piece of
strong tape to the drill site before starting to drill, to avoid
the bit slipping.
•
When drilling steel, always use a punch first on the drill
site.
•
Place a piece of scrap wood under the item when drilling
thin sheet metal to avoid deforming the sheet.
•
Lubricate the drill site with oil when drilling metal. Use
machine oil for steel and paraffin oil for aluminium.
•
To avoid splinters when drilling wood, place a piece of
waste timber under the item, or drill from both sides
•
For large diameter holes, start with a small diameter drill
and then use the desired diameter.
ENGLISH
•
Fit a drill suited to the task.
•
Select maximum speed, select hammer drill, or set moment
for ordinary drilling, and check that direction is correct.
•
Start the drill by pressing the on/off button (7). Speed will
increase as the button is depressed.
•
Let the drill achieve full speed before applying it to the
item or surface to be drilled.
•
Do not press the drill too hard. Select a slow drill speed
for large bits or hard materials, and a faster speed for
small bits or softer materials.
•
Battery status can be checked during drilling on the battery
indicator (11).
•
Use the strap (9) to avoid dropping the machine when in
use.
•
Stop the drill by releasing the on/off button.
•
Use the bit holder (8) to keep drills or bits you use often
safe.
Use
Wipe the drill using a well-wrung cloth after use, and always
keep the surface and ventilation holes (4) free of dirt.
Cleaning and maintenance
You can help protect the environment! Follow local
environmental regulations: Dispose of unwanted electrical
equipment at an approved refuse disposal centre.
Take out the battery before scrapping the product.
Environmental information
Never use corrosive or abrasive detergents, as they may attack
the plastic parts of the machine.
When the carbon brushes are worn, they should be replaced.
Setting maximum speed
•
Maximum speed can be set by turning the gear selector
(3). Push forward to increase maximum speed, and
backwards to reduce speed. Use high speed for small
screws or drills, and low speed for large screws or drills.
Selecting moment and drill function
•
Turn the moment adjustment ring (2) to the desired
setting. Align the moment setting required with the arrow
(d) on the top of the machine.
•
Turn the moment setting ring to the hammer symbol to
select hammer drill function. Select hammer drill for
masonry, stone and cement.
•
At all other moment settings, the machine will function
as an ordinary drill. Select standard drill for wood, metals,
marble, tiles, lime cement or man-made materials.
Moment will be affected by how hard you press the
machine when drilling.
