Internal Components

The node electronics are connected internally to two NL4 router ASICs. Each of the two
router ASICs connects to four Dnet connectors on the rear panel of the CR-brick (8 total
Dnet connectors). Two XIO ports from the node boards (node 1 and node 3 are brought
out to the rear of the brick. Each node board contains two processors and 4, 8, or 12
memory DIMMs. The processors, memory, I/O, and network connections on each node
board are interconnected via a SHub ASIC. This ASIC acts a a crossbar between the
processor interface, local memory interface, network interface, and I/O interfaces.

Note:

The internal components of the CR-brick can be serviced only by trained SGI

technicians.
