Quick Start Steps
2.4.
Software Setup
2.4.1.
HyperTerminal Configuration
Open HyperTerminal and setup a connection with following parameters:
Baud Rate: 115200
Data size: 8 bits
No parity
1 stop bit
No flow control
2.4.2.
GPS AT Command Application Installation
You must first check if you have an application supporting GPS AT command already loaded into your
Embedded Module.
Typically, this application should be the Extended AT Command application.
2.4.2.1.
GPS AT Command Application Check
1. Enter
AT+WOPEN=1
on HyperTerminal to start the application on your Embedded
Module
2. Enter
AT+GPSVERS?
to request the version of the GPS AT command set.
If GPS AT command set is supported, a version string will be returned. You can check if this
is the latest GPS AT command version from document [7].
If ERROR is returned, the application is either not loaded, or does not support GPS AT
command, or cannot execute normally.
If you
don‟t have the expected application loaded, please go through steps described in Note: and
2.4.2.3 to install your application.
If you have a correct GPS AT command set support, you can jump to section 2.4.3 or start using
Discovery Tool GPS page.
Note:
The steps described in this guide are only valid for GPS AT command set Release 1.1 or later.
2.4.2.2.
Embedded Module Firmware Version
Get Embedded Module Firmware compatible with the GPS AT command application (see [7]) from the
Sierra Wireless Software Suite SDK package, and update your Embedded Module using Developer
Studio or DWLWin. Software and tools are available on

GPS AT Command Application Download
1. Get the latest application with GPS AT Command set (typically: Extended AT Application)
from XM0110 Support and Download page on Sierra Wireless website:
