Table 7-3

details the SL808X modem’s support for common UMTS (WCDMA) and

GSM specifications.

Unstructured supplementary

services data (USSD)

USSD provides support for transmitting information over the

GSM network signalling channels. It provides fast session-

based communication between the user and an application,

enabling use of text messaging, prepaid roaming, chat, etc.

(SL8080/82/84)

Supplementary services

Support for supplementary voice services such as Call Hold,

Call Forward, Call Waiting, Multi-party Calls, Caller ID, Fixed

Number Dialing, Service Dialing Numbers, etc.

Cell reselection/handover

Supports InterRat and InterFrequency cell-reselection and

handover between supported frequency bands.

Security - IMEI Security

SIM lock

The device can be ‘MEP locked’ to a particular PLMN.

SIM security

Both CHV1 and CHV2 are supported (unlock and unblock).
