Video Module
Overview
Introduction
The Viper routing switcher is based upon a modular architecture of an integrated frame,
motherboard and backplane. Common input, output, and crosspoint modules are used. There are
five basic modules:

Input Module

Crosspoint Module

Output Module

Processor Module

Power Supply Module
All modules are front extractable and “hot-swappable”. The frame is force air cooled using internal
cooling fans contained within the power supply module. Power supply modules are removable
from the front of the frame.
“H” and “V” (sync) frames are similar to the RGB (video) frames. There is no physical difference
in the modules. However, the values of some components differ and modules in the sync frames
are not interchangeable with “Video” modules. Video and sync input and output are labeled.
Note:
Although modules are “hot-swappable” it is advised that power be removed when removing or inserting
modules when possible.
