7.1 Setting up the remote desktop connection to the IPC
The IPC is preconfigured so that you can access the IPC via a local service PC using the
Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
Note
Protect your local service PC against unauthorized access. Under no circumstance weaken the
hardening measures of the connectivity module.
Note
A connection cannot be established from the service PC to the IPC if several network
connections are active on the service PC.
Carefully ensure that only one network connection is active on the service PC. Deactivate the
additional network interfaces or withdraw the additional LAN cable from the service PC.
Note
When carrying out any work, carefully observe the five safety rules (Page 8).
Procedure
1. Open the control cabinet of the converter.
2. In the control cabinet, locate where the IPC is installed.
3. Directly and physically connect the local service PC to interface "X3 P1" of the IPC using a
LAN cable. In the factory, IP address 192.168.0.185 is set at interface "X3 P1".
Note
Ensure that the service PC is in the same subnet as the IPC.

4. Using the terminal diagram, identify where the miniature circuit breaker for the connectivity
module is located.
