Description of terms

Rated torque M

This is the torque that is mechanically available at the shaft and can be thermally provided

corresponding to the specified operating mode (duty type) according to IEC 60034-1.

Rated speed n

This is the speed for which the rated power and rated torque are defined corresponding to

the specified operating mode (duty type) according to IEC 60034-1.

Rated voltage U

This is the voltage between two motor phases for which the rating data (P

, n

, and so on) is

defined. The rated voltage definition takes into account magnetic (iron saturation) and

thermal factors.

Rated current I

This is the current (effective phase value) that flows at the rated speed and rated torque and

can be thermally provided according to the specified operating mode (duty type) according to

IEC 60034-1.

Rated frequency f

This is the frequency required for obtaining the performance ratings (P

, n

, and so on).

Rated power P

This is the power that is mechanically available at the shaft and can be thermally provided

corresponding to the specified operating mode (duty type) according to IEC 60034-1.

Speed for field weakening with constant power n

This is the maximum achievable speed at the rated power corresponding to the specified
