This approval applies to explosive gas mixtures of Group IIC (see the
S7-300, M7-300,
ET 200M Automation Systems, Principles of Intrinsically-Safe Design manual). Safety-
related limits are defined in the Certificate of Conformity (see the annex).
Note
Modules with II (2) G [Ex ib] IIC approval are considered associated equipment and must be
installed outside the potentially explosive environment. Intrinsically-safe electrical equipment
for Zones 1 and 2 may be connected.
