Settings in Setup
In order to put the LS120 drive into operation, certain settings have to be made in Setup as
described below.
To open the Setup menu, press function key F2 during the boot sequence. Make the following
settings in Setup:
1. In the Main menu, set Diskette A: to “Disable”.
2. In the Main menu under Boot Options:, set the boot sequence as follows:

Removable Devices

Hard Drive

ATAPI CD-ROM Drive
4
Diskette Drive
3. In the Advanced menu, set Floppy-Disk Controller to “Disable”.
4. Boot the programming device with “Save Changes & Exit”.
With these settings the LS120 drive can be addressed in the same way as the 1.44 Mbyte
floppy-disk drive previously installed.

Safety instructions
The procedure to follow when installing expansions to the PG 740 PII is described in the
PG 740 PII manual. Be sure to comply with the safety instructions given there.
Notes on installation and removal
All modules and components in the PG 740 PII are electrostatically sensitive. Please read the
following ESD guidelines. The sign shown here warns that electrostatically sensitive modules
are present.
Before opening the device, you should observe the following rules:
•
Before you disconnect the power supply cable, discharge any electrostatic charge on your
body. You can do this by touching metallic parts, such as screws, on the rear panel of the
PG 740 PII.
•
Discharge any electrostatic charge from tools that you are using.
•
Wear a grounding wrist strap if you are handling components.
•
Leave components and modules in their packing until you are ready to install them.
•
Disconnect the PG 740 PII from its power supply before plugging in or removing any
modules or components.
•
Touch components and modules only on their edges. Above all, do not touch the connecting
pins and printed conductors.
•
Never operate the device with the back panel open.
