- connect and arrange the terminal jumpers in accordance with the circuit diagram located in the terminal box.
FS 71 – 132
FS 160
- observe the tightening torques of the screw connections (fig. 5).
- connect conductor to the clamp ”Earthing”.
- The motors basically are star connected. Clockwise phase sequence is standard with the following wiring:
U1

V1

(BK)
W1

- the adequate assembly is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the system.
- observe the rating plate data and circuit diagram.
- when converter fed, high-frequency current and voltage, oscillations in the motor supply lines, electromagnetic
disturbances may occure

Commissioning
6.1
Checks before the commissioning
Ensure before the commissioning that
- all connections are correctly executed and the plug connections are protected against loosening.
- all motor protection devices are active,
- the drive is not blocked,
- the drive is undamaged (no damages due to transport / storage)
- the feather key in the shaft end (if available) are protected from flying out.
Inspection of the insulation resistance:
- before the initial start-up of the motor, after long storage or shutdown times (approx. 6 months), the insulation
resistance of the winding has to be determined.
Insulation resistance
:
- the minimum insulation resistance of new, cleaned or repaired windings against mass amounts to 10 MegaOhm.
- the critical insulation resistance R
krit
is first calculated. Calculation takes place by multiplication of the highest rated
voltage U
N
(voltage with f
max
), e.g. AC 400V, with the constant factor (o,5 kOhm/V): R
krit
= 400 V x 0,5 kOhm/V =
200 kOhm
CAUTION
- with repeated start: overheating of the motor if PTC-resistors are not evaluated
- pay attention to the correct phase sequence --> direction of rotation

Thermal hazard from hot surfaces!
The surface temperatures of the motors can reach over 100 °C.
Do not touch hot surfaces!
Protection must be provided against accidental contact if necessary. Temperature sensitive
components (wires, electronic components) must not touch hot surfaces.
CAUTION
