Configuration backup

You can find this information in the following paths:
•
With MSPS: "System > Load & Save" and "System > Configuration Backup"
•
With X-200 and X-300: "System > Save & Load http"
Recommendation
Create a backup of the configuration settings after commissioning and at regular
intervals.
Note
With SCALANCE X-200/X-300 devices, the Config file holds all the settings.
With MSPS devices, there is a distinction between Config and ConfigPack. Both
contain the settings from the WBM. The ConfigPack also receives information
about the users, passwords and certificates. The Config represents the pure
settings from the WBM. Use the ConfigPack for a full backup of the device.
Password protect the Config and the ConfigPack if necessary.
You have the option of saving the configuration on a pre-specified TFTP/SFPT
server. You can trigger the backup automatically, for example with an SNMP tag.
Some of the devices also provide the ability to save multiple configurations and
activate them as needed.
Note
Config and ConfigPack can only be loaded to devices with the same order
number.
