Detailed Description of the Batch Calls
ESCOPY 1 0 ES@@@@ST.S5D
The ES 030 user memory will be erased completely. ESCOPY
transfers the file ES@@@@ST.S5D from the current
MS-DOS directory via COM1 to the ES 030.
ESCOPY 1 1 DATEN.DAT
ESCOPY reads the ES 030 user memory via COM1 and stores
the contents in the file DATEN.DAT in the current MS-DOS
directory. Editing the data using the STEP5 programming
package is not possible.
ESCOPY 1 2
ESCOPY reads the bookkeeper of the ES 030 user program
via COM1 and displays it on the screen. The screen output has
the following format:
ADDRESS BLOCK TYPE NUMBER LENGTH
ESCOPY 1 3
ESCOPY erases the complete ES 030 user memory
ESCOPY 1 4 20
ESCOPY reads the specified data block (DB20 in this case) out
of the
ES 030 RAM
and displays it on the screen. Only data
blocks DB1 to DB119 can be read and displayed. The screen
display will be in KH (hexadecimal), KS (character), and KF
(fixed-point number).
Remember:
The displayed data block is valid only if
“
download" operation has been selected
using the function key E2H (see also
ESCOPY 1 F
ESCOPY resets the ES 030 and starts the user program.
All ESCOPY batch calls can, of course, be combined into
a program in an MS-DOS batch file.
Example of an MS-DOS Batch File TRANSMIT.BAT
Creation of an S5 file MOBY@@ST.S5D in STEP5. This file is to
be stored on drive A under User=5.
TRANSMIT.BAT
PCOPY 5A: MOBY@@ST.S5D
(Transferring the S5 block from drive A, User=5 to the
current MS-DOS directory)
ESCOPY 1 0 MOBY@@ST.S5D
(Transferring the S5 file via COM1 to the ES 030)
ESCOPY 1 2
(Read ES 030 bookkeeper via COM1)
ESCOPY 1 F
(Resetting the ES 030 via COM1 and starting the user
program MOBY@@ST.S5D. The ES 030 performs a system
start.)
9.3.2
Dialogue Operation
The input ESCOPY <RET> calls up the dialogue operation. A
mask will appear on the PC screen. Using the arrow keys
“
",
individual functions can be selected.
INTERFACE
Move the selection window to
“
INTERFACE" and press the
<RET> enter key. This function will select the serial interface
COM1 or COM2. Via the selected interface, the user must con
nect the ES 030 with the computer (V.24 cable).
By entering
“
1" for COM1 or
“
2" for COM2, the corresponding
interface will be selected. If an illegal interface number is en
tered, an error message will be generated.
The current selection will stay valid for the whole session. The
default selection upon switching on the computer is COM1 (if
the file ESCOPY.BUP does not exist, also see Chapter 9.4).
Note:
The selected interface will be displayed in the
lower right corner of the screen.
COPYING TO THE ES 030
Move the selection window to
“
COPY TO THE ES 030" and en
ter <RET>.
This function serves to transfer an S5 file stored under MS-
DOS to the ES 030. The ES 030 user memory will be completely
erased prior to this.
The corresponding S5 file may already be stored under MS-
DOS, or it may have to be copied from the PCP/M partition into
the MS-DOS working directory.
S5 file already under DOS (y/n)?
Computer prompt:
- After entering
“
y", the computer will ask for the respective
file name. Enter the file name and press <RET>. ESCOPY
will automatically add the PCP/M extension
“
ST.S5D" to
the file name and transfer the file via the selected interface
to the ES 030. If the specified S5 file does not exist in the
current working directory, an error message will be gener
ated.
Note:
The S5 file
must
be stored in the MS-DOS
working directory.
No drive specifications or
path specifications are allowed.
-
By entering
“
n", ESCOPY will open a window and ask for
- the user area (0 ... 15) of the respective S5 file under
PCP/M
- the drive number of the S5 file under PCP/M. The
user must ensure that a diskette is in the drive that has
been selected.
- the S5 file name. The file name will have, correspon
ding to STEP5 convention, the PCP/M extension
“
ST.S5D" added.
With the help of the parameters that the computer has asked
for, ESCOPY will now call up PCOPY as Child process, and
copy the specified file from the PCP/M partition into the
working directory under MS-DOS. A file under MS-DOS
which already has the same name, will be re-named and
given the extension
“
.OLD" (backup). An error message will be
generated if the specified file does not exist in the working di
rectory under MS-DOS after PCOPY has been executed. The
user should again make sure that the parameters entered are
correct.
On an error-free execution of the PCOPY call, ESCOPY will
transfer the parameterized file via the selected interface to the
ES 030.
