Configuration of the Individual Devices
2.2.1
Keyboard
There are two keyboard versions.
Version 1:
29 standard keys, illuminated, and one key
switch.
Version 2:
Membrane keyboard with 30 keys, 30 LEDs,
and one key switch.
The keys can be freely parameterized and may
be designated as function keys, as
alphanumeric
keys, or as cursor control keys by
parameterization or programming.
Using the key switch, the keyboard can be
switched to a second logical keyboard level.
Each key may be individually labelled. The
LEDs built into the keys can be addressed
individually as DQs.
2.2.2
Display
Four versions are available:
- LCD display containing 2 lines with 24 characters each,
built-in illumination which can be switched on from the
keyboard for one minute at a time.
- LCD display containing 4 lines with 20 characters each,
built-in illumination which can be switched on from the
keyboard for one minute at a time.
- Fluorescent display (bright, self-luminous) containing 2
lines with 20 characters each.
- Fluorescent display containing 2 lines with 20 characters
each and additional Cyrillic character set.
The character set includes hexadecimal 20 to 7F, each
character (alphanumeric) being displayed in a 5 x 7 matrix.
The display text to be programmed by the user may
consist of fixed text or input fields. The input fields can be
overwritten with the keyboard.
2.2.3
Digital Inputs/Outputs
The digital input/output module consists of 8 floating digital
inputs and 8 floating digital outputs. The low end of the inputs
and the 24 V supply of the outputs are connected respectively.
The digital outputs are short circuit proof.
The basic configuration of the ES 030-K includes 8 digital
inputs/outputs. The outputs Q 0.0-Q 0.3 can be loaded with
100 mA, and the outputs Q 0.4-Q 0.7 can be loaded with
50 mA.
The voltage to the DI and DQ may be internally or externally
supplied. The external supply voltage may vary from 16 to 33 V.
In order to keep the potentials separated, note that the internal
voltage is only supplied once for all DI/DQs, serial interfaces
and MOBY interface modules.
On the special configuration ES 030-K supplied with 24 V DC,
this voltage will be used directly as the internal supply voltage
(without separation of potential) mentioned here. On inductive
loads free-wheeling diodes must be used.
Digital input levels:
“
0" = -2 to 2 V
“
1" = 16 to 33 V
Ri = approx. 5 KOhm
Digital outputs:
Switch to 24 V, max. 100 mA
Ri = approx. 25 Ohm
2.2.4
Digital Inputs
The input module contains 16 floating digital inputs. The DI
may be supplied internally or externally. For levels see Chapter
2.2.5
Serial Interface
The ES 030-K in its basic configuration already contains one
serial interface (TTY or RS485; a special model for V.24 is
available) which can be operated with the procedures LAUF,
3964R or in the SINEC L1 bus mode.
The 20 mA supply for a TTY application can be taken from the
available floating 24 V available in the ES 030-K or from the
connected device.
A second serial interface can be installed in the ES 030 as
expansion interface. A V.24 and a 20 mA interface are available
in the module. The procedures are 3964R, the extended
version of LAUF, and PREMID.
The second interface cannot be operated on the SINEC L1
bus.
SINEC L1
SINEC L1 is a SIMATIC S5 bus system.
A four wire cable is used as the transferring medium. The
ES 030-K can be connected to the bus using BT777 bus
terminals or junction boxes. Also see Chapter 2.3.3.3.
Each bus user is addressed on a cyclic basis.
Metal type connectors must be used; the shield must be
connected at all points. The junction boxes listed in Chapter
2.3.3.4 are to be used as distribution boxes and as terminal box
(last box) with built-in terminating resistor and supply voltage.

contains further information about the
SINEC L1 bus system .
SINEC L1 Master
If no SIMATIC S5 master is available, an ES 030-K can be
operated as a master (e.g., several ES 030-Ks connected to
one ES 030-K master; this master is then linked to a computer
via the expansion interface of the ES 030-K).
Only ES 030 slaves may be connected to an ES 030 master.
Interrupt telegrams and lateral communications (slave to
slave) are not possible.
The SINEC L1 master also always includes slave number 1.
2.2.6
Bar Code
The ES 030-K can include a bar code interface as expansion
to which a reading pen or a bar code slot reader is connected.
If a bar code hand scanner is to be used, the interface and the
current consumption of the scanner must be checked
beforehand (the Data Logic types DL 8021, DL 6521 and
DL 91021 have been tested and may be connected directly to
the bar code interface). Power is supplied by the ES 030.
The following codes can be read: Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5,
Industrial 2 of 5, Codabar, EAN, JAN, UPC, and UPC-E.
Modulo check and automatic code recognition are possible.
