Important
This quick start guide is only intended for use by
installers who have an adequate working knowledge
of video systems!
This guide outlines the most important information
about the camera. It is, however, vital that you also
refer to the full operating instructions on CD.

Installing the camera
Step 1: Mounting the camera
1. Attach the camera to a wall bracket, ceiling
bracket, pan/tilt mount or other suitable fitting.
Use of the ¼ inch thread tripod mount hole (

) to
prevent from rotation.
2. Mount the cable guide to the camera to ensure
that the cables are retained securely in place (see
figure
A
).
Step 2: Screw the lens onto the camera
Select one of the following options:
For C-mount lens:
Add a CS-C adapter before
camera, then screw the lens directly onto the
camera
For CS-mount lens:
Screw the lens directly onto
the camera (no adapter ring required)..
Step 3: Connecting the lens
Two type of lens (DC or Video controlled) can be
used for this camera. However, please take note to
select DC or VIDEO lens using switch
(

)
before
connecting the Lens and make sure the wire
connection for each type lens should conform to the
pin assignment below.
Then
connect the control cable to the IRIS connector
(
4,
side or rear) on the camera.
Step 4: Connecting video signal
Select one of the following options:
For composite video:
connect BNC connector
VIDEO OUT (

) to the monitor with a coax cable.
For Y/C connection:
connect Mini-DIN
connector Y/C (

) to the monitor.
Step 5: Synchronization
LL and INT mode are available for this camera. The
factory default is Line lock mode when supplied by an
AC power source. User can change the setting to INT
as necessary.
Step 6: Connecting control input
Connect the control input on the terminals GND and
AL IN (

).
Step 7: Connecting RS485 data interface
For connection with configuration software connect
the interface cable to the RS485 terminals (
8
).
Step 8: Connecting power supply
Connect the power supply cable to the power
connectors (
7
) (see figure
E
):
Caution
If using a DC supply, make sure the polarity is
correct. Incorrect connection may cause
malfunction and/or damage to the camera.
Select one of the following options
For 12 V DC:
Connect shielding to terminal GND (
13
).
Connect 12 V (-) to terminal =DC12V- (

).
Connect 12 V (+) to terminal =DC12V+ (

).
For 24 V AC:
Connect 24 V (~) cables to terminals ~AC24V

).
Connect shielding to terminal GND (

Adjusting camera settings
Setting flange focal distance
Caution:
Risk of damage to camera! Ensure that the locking
screw is loosened before turning the adjustment
screw. Avoid forcing the adjustment screw.
Fixed focus lenses
1. Loosen the locking screw (

) by turning it
counter-clockwise.
2. Open the diaphragm to its fullest extent (either
manually or via the on-screen menu). If the
images are overexposed, or for lenses with
automatic diaphragm adjustment: reduce lighting
levels or hold a neutral grey filter in front of the
lens.
3. Set the focus to
∞
.
4. Point the camera at an object (at a distance of at
least 2000 times the focal length of the lens).
5. Adjust the backfocus ring (
1
), alter the flange
focal distance until the image is clearly in focus.
6. Re-tighten the locking screw (
2
).
Varifocal lenses
1. Loosen the locking screw (
2
) by turning it
counter-clockwise.
2. Open the diaphragm to its fullest extent (either
manually or via the on-screen menu). If the
images are overexposed, or for lenses with
automatic diaphragm adjustment: reduce lighting
levels or hold a neutral grey filter in front of the
lens.
3. Set the focus to
∞
.
4. Select the wide angle (min. focal length) setting.
5. Point the camera at an object (at a distance of at
least 2000 times the focal length of the lens).
6. Adjust the backfocus ring (
1
), alter the flange
focal distance until the image is clearly in focus.
7. Select the telescopic (max. focal length) setting
and adjust the focus to improve image clarity.
8. Reset the camera to the minimum focal length
(wide angle) and fine adjust the flange focal
distance using the adjustment ring (
1
).
9. Re-tighten the locking screw (
2
).
Setting camera parameters
Camera parameters can be modified using the
on-screen menu. The on-screen menu control keys
are located on the left-hand side of the camera
behind the sliding cover. The on-screen menu is
displayed in English on the monitor.
Control keys and their functions
Use the
ENTER
key to access the on-screen
menu.
In the menu, use
UP, DOWN, RIGHT, LEFT
button to navigate the OSD screen for all the
functions
To leave and save, move cursor to EXIT, then
push
ENTER
button.
To leave without save, move cursor to CANCEL,
then push
ENTER
button
Select DEFAULT to return to the factory setting

Operation and storage
Do not operate or store the unit in following locations:
•
Extremely hot or cold places.
•
Close to sources of strong magnetism.
•
Close to sources of powerful electromagnetic
radiation such as radios or TV transmitters.
•
In humid or excessively dusty places.
•
Where exposed to mechanical vibrations.
•
Close to fluorescent lamps or objects reflecting
light.
•
Under unstable or flickering light sources.
Care and maintenance
The camera is maintenance-free.
Small amounts of dirt or dust can be cleaned from the
camera body using a clean soft cloth. If the unit tends
to get very dirty, the camera should be placed within a
protective housing.
