7.21.10 Installing voltage transformers at the busbar
DANGER
Damaged metal coating of voltage transformers
The metal coating on the outside of voltage transformers is connected to earth potential.
Touching a damaged metal coating can lead to a life-endangering electric shock.
⇨ Do not damage the metal coating of voltage transformers.
⇨ Do not mount voltage transformers with damaged metal coating. Contact the Siemens
Service Hotline.
CAUTION
Heavy instrument transformer
An instrument transformer falling down can cause injury.
⇨ Lift the instrument transformer together with several persons.
⇨ Secure the instrument transformer against falling down.
Preparing installation of the voltage transformer
1. Take the surge-proof caps off the busbar bushings.
2. Clean the bushing in the panel carefully with a lint-free wiping cloth.
3. Apply mounting paste evenly to the bushing.
4. Coat the transformer inside cone with the supplied mounting paste.
5. Push the transformer inside cone onto the bushing.

Installing the voltage transformer
1. Mount the handle on the voltage transformer and remove the transformer type plate.
2. To let excess air out, apply a cable strap

or nylon thread to the bushing.
