The RS485-interface at connection 6 (RS485/M0 in fig. 5) is also set as
Master-interface. Datas received at the other two Master-interfaces
(Connection 1 or 7) are sent to further Active Mini-Starcouplers via this
interface.
The optical interfaces at connections 2 – 4 (FO/S2 – FO/S5 in fig. 5) are
set as Slave-interfaces. A link between the Master-interface and one of
this interfaces is switched by a port selection string from a terminal
program or from DIGSI 3, which supports the port selection procedure.
Before DIGSI start the dialogue with a relay the port for the relay is
selected.
The optical interface at connection 5 (FO/S5 in fig. 5) is set as Slave-
interface. It´s switched into the Active Transmission Mode, if one version
3 relay is selected in DIGSI. In DIGSI-remote for the application
´channel-switch´ for all V3 relays port 5 must be set. All version 3 relays
may have the same port-number, because they are addressable. Only
one Slave-interface therefore is necessary for V3 relays.
The Mini Starcoupler shown in fig. 5 which distribute the optical signal
from FO/S5 can be substituted by a “Modular Starcoupler” 7XV53. Also
further Mini-Starcouplers can be cascaded in a star-topology.
If the front interface of a version 3 relay is used or relays with RS485
interface (e.g. 7SJ600), opto-eletrical converters are available to
interface from optical to electrical.
8.2.1 Operation with DIGSI 4.3x
The protection operation software DIGSI 4.3x now is capable of
communicating directly or via active Mini-Starcoupler and via modem
with all numerical protection relays provided by Siemens (V1/2/3,
SIPROTEC 4). This allows for a substation management and common
use of operating tools for selecting devices.
Existing substation management systems from DIGSI V3 may simply be
converted to DIGSI 4.3x.
The settings for DIGSI 4 and the operating interface are described in
detail in the DIGSI 4 manual.
