Active Mini-Starcoupler
14.01.2002
6.2.2
With Zero-Modem Cable
(Not bridged between pin 7-8)
•
Deselect a potential selected port with "
BYE
"
•
Switch DIP-switch S2.1 to "ON" (activates setting mode)
•
The handshake signal ´
DTR
´ must be activated in the terminal
programs for the serial PC interface (it´s like a bridged pin 7-8).
•
Send with the terminal program the character:
(1000)
p
(1000)
to the serial RS232-interface of the Active Mini-Starcoupler. The PC
and the device are connected via the zero-modem cable. In the
terminal program the parameters for the serial PC interface, like
baudrate and data frame, must have the same values as set for the
serial interface of the Active Mini-Starcoupler.
Note:
(1000)
is the minimum duration between two characters
6.2.3
With standard parameters 9600 Baud, 8N1
(recommended)
•
Deselect a potential selected port with "
BYE
"
•
Switch OFF the auxiliary voltage of the Active Mini-Starcoupler.
•
Connect the serial RS232 interface of the device with the DIGSI-
cable 7XV5100-4 (bridged at pin 7-8) or a Zero-Modem cable (with
activated DTR-signal for the serial PC-interface) to a serial PC-
interface. This interface must be selected also in the terminal
program with the interface settings 8N1 and 9600 Baud.
•
Set DIP-Schalter S2.1 to "
ON
".
•
Switch ON the auxiliary voltage. Green LED lights. The Active Mini-
Starcoupler send the serial datas with:
9600 Baud, 8 Databits, no Parity, 1 Stopbit (8N1)
to the terminal program, disregard of the actual settings for it´s
serial RS232-interface. This procedure is recommended if the
settings for the RS232 interface of the Active-Ministarcoupler are
unknown. It allows the setting procedure with well defined
parameters.
ATTENTION!:
Any change to the setting mode during an active data
connection leads the to loss of all stored datas and interrupts the
connection.
