Wiring protective earth
Install protective earth by connecting all exposed inactive metal parts that do not belong to
the operational power circuit to ground potential. This conductive connection is intended to
prevent the development of dangerous voltages on electrically conductive system or device
parts in the case of malfunction.
DANGER
Electrical accident through contact
The RAIL contact conductors are connected to 48 V AC, while the L1, L2 and L3 contact
conductors are operated on a voltage of 400/500 V AC. Contact with components carrying
these live voltages poses the risk of an electrical accident. Such an accident can result in
physical injury or death.
Always adhere to the necessary safety measures taken for the respective electrical system
components.
Note
Note that a leakage current > 10 mA can flow across the PE connections to the PE contact
conductor.
Wiring diagram
The following diagram shows the interfaces that must be connected to a ground conductor or
via patch cables.
Use the cables marked green/yellow for the connection to PE.
