3. Insert the plastic sidewall adapter (provided)
through the hole from the inside of the hood wall
and lock it in place from the outside with the
plastic lock ring (provided). See Figure 5.
4. Using a screwdriver and the two-position
removable wire connector (provided), connect
the power wires to the removable wire connector
as shown in Figure 7.
(Steps 5 and 6 are optional)

If using a field panel:
Use the wire strippers,
and remove 1/4- inch (6.35 mm) of insulation
from the ends of the FLN trunk wires.
Using a screwdriver, terminate the wires from
the field panel to the three-position removable
wire connector. See Figure 7.

4. Cut the air sensor hose (provided) to fit between
the sidewall adapter and the FHM. Leave
enough slack so that when the hose is installed,
no kinks are created.
5. Carefully insert one end of the air sensor hose
onto the end of the plastic sidewall adapter and
insert the other end through the hole in the
mounting plate.
Hose and Wire Connections:
1. Insert the end of the air sensor hose onto the air
sensor connection on the back of the FHM. See
Figure 6.

If using the auxiliary DI(s) or an external
alarm:
Use the wire strippers, and remove
1/4-inch (6.35 mm) of insulation from the ends of
the auxiliary or external alarm wires.
Using a screwdriver, terminate the wires from
the DI or external alarm to the four-position
removable wire connector. See Figure 7.
7. Securely insert all wire connectors into their
appropriate receptacles. Leave all unused wire
connectors in their mounting receptacles.
8. Place the FHM onto the mounting bracket, being
careful not to kink the air sensor hose or wires.

9. To secure the FHM to the fume hood, tighten the
screws at the top and bottom tabs of the
mounting plate.
2. Insert all wires that will be terminated to the
FHM through the hole in the mounting plate.
3. Using the wire strippers, remove 1/4-inch
(0.5 cm) of insulation from the ends of the power
wires.
The installation is now complete.
