4 Software and Driver Installation
Before installation you must deactivate the virus scanner temporarily.
To operate the of the USB↔SM-NET adapter 0480123C you must install software and
a driver:
▶ PC software with USB driver
▶ machine software
The USB drivers are automatically installed with the PC software, when prop‐
erly installed.

Error message in Windows 7 Ultimate
If an error appears during the installation indicating that the 16 bit-application could not
be started, the error was caused by the length of the file name.To solve the problem,
you must enable the option in the DOS of the PC allowing to use of long file names.
Take the following steps:
