Stop  the  operation  of  the
compressor.

When not required, be sure
to return the knob to the
original position, otherwise
all food in the refrigerator
compartment may be frozen.

When storing a large quantity
of food and the door is opened
frequently.
Use in hot seasons.
When cooling the food quickly
or making ice quickly.

When storing a small quantity
of food and the door is not
opened frequently.

OPERATION

CONTROLLING TEMPE-
RATURE

The inside temperature of the refrigera-
tor is controlled by the Temperature cotrol
knob.
Once the knob is adjusted, it automati-
cally keeps the inside of the refrigerator
at the desired temperature.

NOTE

• The knob cannot be turned beyond-

MAX position and should not be forced
beyond this mark.

• When the knob is set at the WARM dew

drops may be formed.

DEFROSTING

FREEZER COMPARTMENT

While the frost is soft and slight;

out stopping the operation.

OFF

When frost deposits (more than 5mm high) in the
freezer, the cooling effect is sacrificed. Defrost ear-
lier in the following procedure.

1.Empty the freezer by removing

all foods, Freezer shelf and Ice
cube trays.

2.Turn the knob to OFF position,

and open the freezer door.

• Once the knob is set to OFF position, do not return

to other position immediately, otherwise the com-
pressor may suffer immoderate load. Wait at least
five minutes before turning.

• Do not attempt to defrost the evaporator by force,

using knife or the like. Otherwise the evaporator
surface may be damaged or cracked, which may
cause leakage of refrigerant and trouble of the re-
frigerator.

The evaporator in the refrigerator does not require
defrosting operation. Whenever the compressor is
stopped by the thermostat, the refrigerator is natu-
rally defrosted, and water is discharged in the Evapo-
rating pan provided above the compressor and is
evaporated by the compressor heat.

3.Scrape off with the spatula, and wipe the water

collected in the bottom with cloth. Because of
the natural defrosting system, it may take some-
what a long time depending on the ambient tem-
perature.

4.After defrosting, return the knob to the original

position.

The front edge of the freezer compartment ceil-
ing may be covered with more frost than on other
parts. This is normal because chilly air is nor-
mally circulated by convection in the freezer com-
partment.
