4.0 Function Control and Adjustment
According to German Safety Standards (DVGW-Arbeitsblatt
G 465/IV) tests, controls and inspections of gas detectors are
obligatory.
Paragraph 5 of these standards „Control and tests of Equipment“
requests that „all gas measuring equipment used for monitoring
has to be checked before an operation.“ This check includes the
test of zero and gas indication.
According to paragraph 6.1 „Inspections“ these have to be carried
out „depending on the frequency of operations ... at least ... once a
year.“
These inspections include zero control and a sensitivity test.
The results have to be recorded.
