Safety Conditions
The requirement for safe operation is that the safety functions of MOVIAXIS
®
MMD60B
are properly integrated into an application-specific higher-level safety function. A
system/machine-specific risk assessment must be carried out through the system/
machine manufacturer and taken into account for the use of the drive system with
MOVIAXIS
®
MMD60B.
The system/machine manufacturer and the operator are responsible for compliance of
the system/machine with applicable safety regulations.
The following requirements are mandatory when installing and operating MOVIAXIS
®
MMD60B in safety-related applications.
The conditions are divided into the following sections:
• Approved device combinations
• Requirements on the installation
• Requirements on external safety controllers/safety relays
• Requirements on startup
• Requirements on operation

Approved device combinations
Only the following combinations with MOVIAXIS
®
MMD60B are permitted for safety-
related applications:
• MMD60B19-5A3-4-00
• MMD60B24-5A3-4-00
• MMD60B36-5A3-4-00
• MMD60B19-500-4-00
• MMD60B24-500-4-00
• MMD60B36-500-4-00
Of these unit combinations, the following variants are permitted:
• MOVIAXIS
®
MMD60B, integrated in the drive
• MOVIAXIS
®
MMD60B, mounted close to the motor
Any combinations listed in other publications are not permitted.
