Your vacuum cleaner contains an integrated function which protects the appliance from
overheating. This is activated as soon as the temperature in the appliance’s interior grows too
high. In this case, switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains. Look for the cause
of overheating (either the dust bag needs changing, the dust container needs emptying, the filters
require cleaning or a blockage has formed somewhere which requires eliminating). Check the
tube, nozzles and hose when attempting to locate a possible blockage. Now wait 45 minutes. You
can now switch on the cooled-off appliance once more.
The dust container on my bagless vacuum cleaner has become disengaged during carrying.
When carrying the vacuum cleaner, you have inadvertently pressed the dust container’s release
button. In future, check to ensure that you do not press this button by mistake when carrying the
appliance.
When should I empty/clean the dust container on my bagless vacuum cleaner?
Empty the dust container when the emptying indicator is illuminated (red) or the MAX mark is
achieved. Notwithstanding the above, empty the dust container every three months, as soon as
unpleasant odours develop.

This is a safety feature designed to prevent you from vacuuming without a dust bag or using an
incorrect dust bag. Check whether the correct type of bag is properly inserted. To do this, please

Can I use other dust bags apart from the original SEVERIN dust bags or the dust bags
recommended by SEVERIN?
Unfortunately not. The appliance is not designed for other types of bag.
