Smartcard Cover (Mod State 4 Onwards)
Caution! Risk of damage to the radio.
Do not attempt to remove the card
holder cover by levering along the sealed edges with tooling. The cover must
be refitted correctly to retain the radio's IP rating.
The smartcard cover (5) is fitted over the smartcard compartment, providing a water-tight seal rated
to IP67. In addition, the smartcard cover also ensures that the card holder remains secure during a
heavy impact, for example the radio being dropped. Should the smartcard holder become damaged
or is missing, it must be replaced.
To remove, power off the radio and remove the battery.
1. Using the handle recesses, carefully lift the card holder cover away from the radio with your
thumb and forefinger.
2. Refit the card holder cover. Apply even pressure to the cover to ensure it is firmly seated and
seals the card compartment to retain the radio's IP rating.
