System Configuration

The frequencies on the left are the high frequency transducers, which encompass the antenna
itself, as well as a transmitter or receiver, all contained in a sealed, yellow housing. Pressing
Auto Detect
will have the system automatically detect which transducer is connected. The
frequencies on the right are the antenna frequencies. Auto Detect does not apply to antennas.
Select the frequency you are using for the survey, then

Time Window
The Time Window setting determines how long (and therefore how deep) the GPR will collect
data. It is important that it is set to a value appropriate for the depth of the survey target. An
entire survey could fail if the window is not sufficiently long enough to sample to the depth of the
target. Conversely, too long a time window increases the data volume and can make data hard
to interpret. Remember that setting the Time Window or Depth to a certain value does NOT
guarantee that the GPR signals can penetrate to that depth. It only means that the GPR
receiver will “listen” for signals from that depth. If the ground material has high electrical
conductivity, GPR penetration is limited and you may not achieve the exploration depths you
desire.
Press Time Window to display the screen in Figure 6-3, where you can set the Time Window in
nanoseconds.

The current Time Window is displayed. Press the
