Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks gives you the ability to share your files and printers
with other Microsoft Windows computers. If you want to share your files and printers, you need to
set up this service.
Check the “
This connection uses the following items:
” list for the
File and Printer Sharing for
Microsoft Networks
on it. If not available, click on
Install…
, select
Service
, click on
Add…
, and
select
Microsoft > File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
, then click on
OK
as shown
in
Figure 3-4
, and click on its check box.

Checking and Adding Computer Name & Workgroup Name
Windows uses the computer name and workgroup name to identify your computer on the network.
Please enter a unique name for your computer, the workgroup it will appear in, and a short
description of the computer.

(right-click) >
Properties
in
Computer Name
tag to check the
computer name, workgroup name and computer description are entered as shown in
Figure 3-5
.
