9.4 ENVIRONMENTAL
IMPACT
9.4.1 During the life-cycle
Normal equipment operation does not imply any problem of environmental impact.
9.4.2 Packages management
The products are provided in packages compliant to the current laws. Their structure assures an
easy separation of the different constituting parts for type of used material.
The material normally present in the packages is:
•
paperboard
•
wood (pallet)
•
plastic film, plastic , foam polystyrene, thermoplastic material
Once the product has been put out from the packages, this must be managed as package refuse
in compliance with the current laws (DM 22 of 5 February 1997 and CONAI: Consorzio Nazionale
Imballaggi).
Therefore, the parts constituiting the package must be separed accorfing to the different type odf
material. The different material must not dispersed in the environment, but they must be managed
giving priority, as possible, to re-use, recycling or, as last solution, the disposal. These activities
must be executed by means of bodies authorized to this purpose.
For a correct management of the packing materials after their use, follow the CER classification:
•
paper board (150101)
•
wood (pallet) (150103)
•
plastic film, plastic, foam polystyrene, thermoplastic material (150102)
9.4.3 End of life-cycle: products management
At its end of life-cycle, the product must not be dispersed into environment. The main purpose
must be, as possible, the recovery and the recycling. Therefore, at end of life-cycle, it is necessary
to evaluate the possibility to give the obsolete product to bodies authorized to this activity.
Otherwise, its disposal be made according to the current laws and rules and via Bodies authorized
to collectiing and recycling.
For the disposal, there is the following CER classification:
−
electronic cards
: they are classified according to the European standards (CER) as “special
waste”, code 160202;
Note: some electronic cards contain condensers of great dimensions; these condensers have not
dangerous elements inside as PTC or PCB, therefore the cards that equip them are in the
above category.
−
Boxes, cabinets and subracks
: they are classified according to the European standards as
“special waste”, code 160205
The management of wastes must comply with Dlvo. n° 22 of 1997.
