Installation
Procedure for Intel
®
T3100 CPU
There is an incompatibility of video drivers contained in Windows 7 Installation Disk with the
platform Intel
®
T3100 CPU + ION Chipset, that prevents setup program of Windows
®
7 (any
version) to complete successfully the installation on this board.
Therefore, it is necessary to execute a workaround during installation, in order to complete it
correctly.
This procedure is not needed for SECOnITX-ION equipped with Intel
®
Atom™ N270 CPU.
For the installation of Windows
®
7 Operative System on SECOnITX-ION Board, it is necessary to
follow this procedure:
1) Plug a DVD-ROM drive to S-ATA port of your Carrier Board, or to an USB port (depending on
the type of installation Drive you have) and insert the Setup media in it;
2) Be sure to have an USB keyboard and a mouse plugged to your SECOnITX-ION Board, then
power up the system;
3) Start the installation of Windows 7 normally, booting from Setup Drive. During first steps,
Windows 7 will copy all necessary files on SECOnITX-ION connected Hard Disk, then it will
continue setup procedure, expanding the copied files and configuring the system.
4) When finished this phase, Windows 7 will ask to reboot the system.
5) After this reboot, press a key to let you boot from installation disk, not from the main Hard Disk.
6) Now, it seems that the setup procedure has started again from the beginning. Press Next in the
first setup screen (the one where you can choose the language, Time and currency format and
Keyboard type), and, in the second setup screen, choose “
Repair your computer
”.
7) In the next Setup Screen, select the last opti
on, “
Command Prompt
”.
8) When the command prompt appears, type sequentially the following commands:
d: <Press ENTER Key>
cd windows <Press ENTER Key>
cd inf <Press ENTER Key>
del nv_lh.inf <Press ENTER Key>
exit <Press ENTER Key>
9) Now, restart the system
10) When Windows will ask for it, wait in order to continue boot from the main Hard Disk, not from
Setup Drive.
11) Complete normally the installation of Windows7.
