WARNING!
Ensure that the grinder is unplugged from the mains power supply before assembling.
3.1. Guard
3.1.1. Insert the guard into the slot behind the spring disc (fig. 2.1).
3.1.2. Lift the spring tag (fig. 2.2) with a screwdriver and rotate the guard under it, to a position as shown in fig. 3.
3.2. Grinding Disc
(only be performed by person holding grinding wheel certificate)
3.2.1. Place the disc flange (fig. 4.8) onto the centre spindle (fig. 4.A) ensuring that the joint ring (fig. 4.9) is facing upward. Engage the
recess in the disc flange (fig 4.8) with the drive flats on the shaft.
3.2.2. Place grinding disc (fig. 4.B) on the spindle.
3.2.3. Retain disc with nut flange (fig. 4.10). Fit with spigot facing in if disc is more than 5mm thick,
and facing out if disc is less than 5mm thick (see figs. 4a & 4b).
3.2.4. Stop the spindle from turning by pushing in and holding the locking button (fig 5.A).
3.2.5. Lock the grinding disc into place by tightening the nut flange (fig 4.10) with the pin wrench (fig 4.11).
3.2.6. Release the locking button and check that it has sprung back to the initial position.
3.3. Positioning the Guard
The guard may be rotated to suit the task without the use of tools, as shown in fig. 3.
3.3.1. Position the guard to give working access whilst still providing maximum personal
protection for the operator.
3.4. Handle
The auxiliary handle will allow better control and safety.
3.4.1. Fit the handle (fig. 1.5) by screwing it into the threaded hole on either the left or right
side of the gear box, as best suits the work. See fig. 5.

Remove items from packing and identify parts against fig. 1. Check to ensure they are in good condition. If any part is damaged or missing
contact your supplier immediately.

DO NOT allow grinder sparks to make contact with the operators clothing or any other fabric such as cleaning rags. Fabrics contaminated with inflammable materials
such as petrol, oil, grease, paint and solvents are a particular fire hazard.

To reduce the risk of clothing catching fire the operator should wear wool or cotton outer garments treated with a fire retardant in preference to man-made fibres.

When not in use switch off grinder, remove plug from power supply and store in safe, dry, childproof area.
