5.  OPERATION

5.1.    

The fully assembled support beam is heavy and should be lifted into place by two people.

5.2.    

loosen the grip knobs (fig1.1) to allow the assemblies to slide and then locate the rubber feet into the gutters of the vehicle’s front    

 

wing panels or close to the suspension strut towers. The feet can be adjusted to allow the main beam to be installed in a level plane   

 

(fig1.5). When located, tighten thoroughly.

Note:

 

Refer to the manufacturer’s handbook to identify engine lifting brackets. If required, loosen the centre clamp (fig1.3) to swivel the cross  

 

beam (fig1.7) to the desired alignment, then re-tighten.

5.3.    

drop the adjustable screw assemblies (fig1.6) through the slot in the cross beam in positions adjacent to the engine lifting points. If not  

 

utilising the swivel facility, the lift screw will pass through both the cross beam (fig1.7) and main beam (fig1.8).

5.4.    

Attach the hooks to the lifting brackets on the engine and thread grip knobs (fig 1.2) onto adjustable hook assemblies.

5.5.    

Progressively rotate the lifting handles (fig1.2) clockwise to support the engine.

5.6.    

on completion of the maintenance task, rotate the lifting handles anticlockwise to release the tension on the lifting hook assemblies

5.7.    

Unhook, loosen both grips and remove the engine support from the vehicle.
