Maintenance and Troubleshooting

9797A-27 C-Band TXRX

7-12

Secure Power, tie down antenna with stow braces or
web straps at an elevation of 0 to re-align (or change)
the Modular Drop-in Feed Assembly.

Rotate the Modular Drop-in Feed Assembly until the

POLANG STOP is Bottom Dead Center.

Engage POLANG MOTOR drive gear (Linear Feeds

ONLY) and tighten the motors mounting screws.

Rotate the gear on the POLANG POT until it is in the

center of its range of rotation.

Engage POLANG POT driven gear (Linear Feeds

ONLY) and tighten the pots mounting screws.
NOTE: This should cause a reading of about 0120
in the ACU ANTENNA – POL menu display.

Remove the tie down stow braces or web straps. Re-

balance the antenna.

Target and re-acquire desired satellite.

If a CIRCULAR polarized feed is installed skip to step

15.

If a LINEAR polarized feed is installed, continue:

If MANUAL Polarization will be used, skip to step 13.

Set POL TYPE parameter to 72 (for AUTO

polarization mode).

Select POL OFFSET parameter to align cross-pol

isolation with the network operation center. While in
POL OFFSET, use the UP or DOWN arrow keys to
optimize polarization as dictated by the network
operation center.

Set POL TYPE parameter to 9 (for manual

polarization mode). Manually adjust polarization to
align cross-pol isolation with the network operation
center.
