System Firmware
Firmware updates are made available through the SignalCraft support portal. Refer to Section 6.1 to register for
SC4415 support and to receive firmware updates.
The System Firmware file, provided by SignalCraft, has a file extension of “.tar.gz” and a filename of “SCT-IM226Fvc-
1234” where 1234 is an example of the version number. It is important to take note of the version number of the new
System Firmware file. The current version of the SC4415 can be obtained by issuing the
to the value next to the “VERSION” field.
Prior to performing a System Firmware update, ensure that the new System Firmware file is newer than the current
version. For example, if the SC4415 device reports a version number of 100 and the System Firmware file has a version
of 150, the System Firmware file is a newer version than what is currently executing on the SC4415.
To perform the System Firmware update, follow the procedure described in Section 4 and the select option 1 from the
menu. This will prompt the transfer of the System Firmware file. Once the transfer is initiated, it may take a few
moments for the transfer to complete. Once the file has been transferred, the new System Firmware is then written to
the memory of the SC4415. This process may take up to 60 seconds to complete and must not be interrupted.
It is critical that the power to the device is not interrupted during an upgrade. Interruption of the
upgrade can result in a non-functional device, requiring repair services.
Once the System Image file has been transferred and validated, a confirmation message as shown below will appear. At
this time it is safe to remove power from the device.
Write complete
Restart the device to use the new image.
Once the power to the device has been restored and the system restart has completed, the update can be confirmed
by issuing the
command. The value contained next to the VERSION field will now reflect the version of the
System Firmware file used during the update.
