ScripTalk Station Overview
ScripTalk utilizes text-to-speech and RFID
(Radio Frequency Identification) technologies
to provide visually impaired pharmacy
patients the ability to hear prescription
information from each prescription container.
In the pharmacy,
a
pharmacist will key all
prescription label information into the
ScripAbility software. That data is then
transmitted from the ScripTalk device to
an RFID label that is affixed to the
patient's prescription container.
At home,
a patient uses the ScripTalk device to decode the information from
the RFID label into an audible format of their prescription information.
