Some vehicle models require special parts for creating the
vacuum connection. These are available free of charge from
Scottoiler or at your nearest Louis store. To check whether
you need any additional parts, refer to the model-specific
installation instructions.
8 | Storage
Store the Louis Special Edition Scottoiler in the original
packaging, in a closed room which is protected from the
weather and moisture, until it is installed.
9 | Cleaning and care
NOTE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the Louis Special
Edition Scottoiler can lead to damage of the
Scottoiler.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents,
brushes with metal or nylon bristles, or sharp
or metallic cleaning objects such as knives,
hard spatulas or similar. They can damage the
surfaces. Clean the components of the Louis
Special Edition Scottoiler with warm soapy
water or plastic cleaner with a soft cloth.
10 | Troubleshooting
Fault
Possible causes and remedies
The Louis Special
Edition Scottoiler
does not give off
any oil.
Check whether the nib of the delivery
tube is blocked. Check whether
there is a vacuum on the vacuum
connection when the engine is running
(a gentle suction can be felt with the
finger). See installation instructions
section 7.2. Bleed the delivery tube
in accordance with the installation
instructions section 7.6.
The chain is too
dry.
Moderately increase the flow rate
of the oiler in accordance with the
installation instructions section 7.7.
The chain (and the
surrounding area)
are too heavily
oiled
Check whether the nib of the delivery
tube is aligned properly to the
chain/sprocket and is secured (see
installation instructions section 7.3.).
Reduce the flow rate in accordance
with the installation instructions
section 7.7.
The nib drips when
the vehicle engine
is shut off
There may be soiling in the system,
see section 7.5 for information.
11 | Warranty
Always follow these safety and installation instructions.
Inappropriate handling or improper use of the Louis Edition
Scottoiler will void any warranty claims.
12 | Disposal
The German waste oil regulations require us to take back
used vehicle oils, used containers and waste containing
oil free of charge at our stores, up to the same quantity as
was sold to you as the consumer. Dispose of the packaging
appropriately (plastic with the recyclables, cardboard with
waste-paper). Recycle the article yourself if it is no longer to
be used. Do not dispose of the Scottoiler with the household
waste.
