10  PIN PROGRAMMABLE SCANNER 

The Pin Programmable Scanner provides switching of the Anode, Gate, Cathode and 
Ground  signals  to  any  of  up  to  16  pins.    The  maximum  rating  for  this  adaptor  is  30 
Amps  and  1200  Volts  to  any  of  the  pins.    Low  current  measurements  down  to  350 
Pico-Amps  can  be  made.    See  Figure  10-1  for  a  simplified  schematic  of  the  ADP-
401A-8/16 Pin Programmable Scanner.

10.1 Installation 

The ADP401A-8/16 is provided with the following: 

  External  Relay  Driver  Board  (ER-100).    If  the  Pin  Programmable  Scanner 

was not part of the original equipment, this card will have to be installed into 
5000 Series Tester small card cage and the 26 Pin Header to 25 Pin D-Sub 
cable connected to the 5000 Series Tester rear panel. 

  25 Pin D-Sub M-F Control Cable (HCB-200) 

  Box to circular device cable (HCB-401) 

  ADP-401A Scanner with one or two Scanner Boards for 8 or 16 Pin. 

  One or more personality modules (including the ADP-401A Self-Test Module 

(ST-601)

Personality  Modules  are  available  for  any  commercially  available  4-
16 pin sockets.
