Setting the Relay

Settings Changes Via the Serial Port

NOTE:

In this manual, commands

you type appear in bold/uppercase:

SHOWSET

. You need to type only the

first three letters of a command, for
example,

SHO

press appear in bold/uppercase/

. Relay front-panel

pushbuttons you press appear in

for information on serial port

communications and relay access levels. To change a specific setting, enter
the command:

SET

n s

where

= L, P, T, or R (parameter

is not entered for the Relay settings) and

is the name of the specific setting you want to access and begin setting. If

not entered, the relay starts at the first setting. For example, to set Event
Report 1, type the following:

SET L ER1 <Enter>

The relay responds with:

ER1 = 87A1+87B1+87C1
?

If you omit the

parameter, the relay starts at the top of the logic settings and

responds with the following:

TR1 = 87A1+87B1+87C1
?

When you issue the

SET

command, the relay starts at the top of the

particular setting group and presents a setting. Enter a new setting and press
<

Enter

>; if you want to retain the existing setting, then press <

Enter

> only.

After the

<Enter>

keystroke, the relay presents the next setting, and so on.

Table 5.1

shows the editing keystrokes.

The relay checks each entry to ensure that it is within the setting range. When
out of range, the relay generates an “Out of Range” message and prompts for
the setting again.

When settings are complete, the relay displays the new settings and prompts
for approval to enable them. Answer

<Enter>

to enable the new settings.

While the active settings are updated (about one second), the relay is disabled,
and the ALARM contact closes.
