Access Control
Access control is the process of deciding who can log in to the relay or
SEL-2701. The relay limits functionality based on access level. Relay access
levels are described in
.
The SEL-2701 user interface uses a subset of the relay access levels and
passwords. When you establish a terminal connection directly to the
SEL-2701 user interface, use the passwords programmed into the relay for
Access Levels 0, 1, and 2. You can change a password using the relay
PASSWORD
command at Access Level 2. See your relay instruction manual
for a full description of the
PASSWORD
command.
To log in as an FTP client, use the user name and corresponding password for
that access level as shown in
. You do not need to log in to start a
Telnet session. After you connect, you can use the standard relay log-in
process to change access levels.
SEL-2701
User Interface
You can access the SEL-2701 user interface with a Telnet connection directly
to the SEL-2701. Once you are connected to the SEL-2701 user interface, you
can use the commands described in
Section 3: Settings and Commands
SEL-2701 settings are not accessible through the SEL-2701 user interface. Set
the SEL-2701 through the relay port settings for the port where the SEL-2701
is installed. Log in to the SEL-2701 access levels using the passwords set in
the relay.
