NOTE
Dirt particles in the vacuum circuit
During assembly, ensure that no dirt particles enter the lines.
We recommend that you mount the vacuum pump on a special console (option).
1. Based on the type plate, ensure that the vacuum pump is compatible with the local line voltage.
2. Establish the electrical connection of the vacuum pump as per the supplied circuit diagram.
3. Position the motor-protection switch such that it is easily accessible for switching on and off.
4. Install a disconnecting switch and fuse protection based on the local line voltage and according to
local regulations.
5. Check the direction of rotation of the vacuum pump.
6.5 Checking the Rotation Field
The vacuum generator is supplied with a “clockwise rotation field”. If no rotation field measuring device
is available, check the direction of rotation of the vacuum generator before the start of operations:
1. Switch on the vacuum generator.
2. Ensure that the motor fan blade turns in the direction of the arrow.
3. If the direction of rotation is incorrect, switch the unit off immediately and reverse the connection in
the supply line.
4. Check the direction of rotation once again.
You can purchase a motor rotation tester from Schmalz (part no. 21.05.05.00082). Schmalz ac-
cepts no liability for damage caused by operating the device with the incorrect direction of ro-
tation.
6.6 Shortening the Lift Tube
DANGER
Application of suction to the supporting surface
Serious injury or death!
4
Before start of operations, ensure that the tube lifter cannot grip the supporting sur-
face when in its lowest position.
4
Ensure that the load can be set down safely on the surface below at all times.
ð
Minimum clearance: 10 cm.
Due to low ceiling heights or when using other grippers, it may be necessary to shorten the lift tube.
Tools required:
•
Carpet cutter
•
Bolt cutter
•
Insulating table (approx. 30 mm wide, airtight)
•
Size 13 open-ended wrench
•
Multipurpose grease
When the lift tube is shortened, the lifting distance is also reduced. Tube lifter stroke
length = approx. 0.7 x length of the lift tube (unloaded).
