MAINTENANCE
To obtain the best performance from your heater, make sure
you perform the following maintenance activities on a regular
basis:
a)
Keep exterior surfaces clean. Use warm soapy water
for cleaning. Never use flammable or corrosive
cleaning agents. Be sure to keep the area around the
burner and control assembly dry at all times.
b)
Air flow must be unobstructed. Spiders and insects
can nest and live in outdoor appliances, especially in
the burners and orifices. This can be a very dangerous
situation. The heater must be inspected for insect
infestation of the burner and orifice annually, or when
one of the following occur:
1) Gas smell along with predominate yellow tipping of
the burner flames.
2) Heater does not reach temperature.
3) Uneven burner glow.
4) Burner makes popping noises during normal use,
other than during shutdown.
c)
Carbon deposits may create a fire hazard. Clean dome
and emitter with warm soapy water if required.
d)
Check your heater for signs of damage or wear and
replace components as necessary.
SERVICING
A hazardous condition may result if a heater is used that has

working properly:
* The flame is contained within the heater.
* The flame is essentially blue with perhaps some yellow
tipping.
* There is no strong disagreeable odor, eye burning or other
physical discomfort.
* There is no smoke or soot internal or external to the heater.
