Installation Instructions
1.
Install the SAV-EFF under the dash in a well-protected area, using the mounting tabs attached to the box.
2.
Mount the rocker switch panel (see Fig.2 – Pg4) to the dash.
Note:
As the SAV-EFF has built in circuit protection, external circuit breakers are not essential, but
recommended. (see Fig.2 – Pg4)
3.
The terminals on the SAV-EFF are designed to be tightened by hand. Install the cable lug with washer and
tighten by hand only, do not over tighten by turning the lug with top nut/cap.
4.
Critical Step: Connect the positive cable from the battery to the red terminal side labelled ‘battery’ on
the SAV-EFF unit.
Failure to connect the terminals in this way will result in damage to internal
components and void any warranties. If unsure do not connect! Contact your nearest service
agent/dealer.
5.
Connect the negative from the battery to the black battery terminal on SAV-EFF.
6.
Connect motor/winch cables to the motor terminals on opposite side.
7.
The black 1mtr cable is to be connected to the rocker switch panel. (see Fig.2 –Pg4)
i.
Blue-> DOWN
ii.
Brown-> UP
iii.
Green & yellow-> NEU
8.
Set mode switch to standard. (see Fig.1 – Pg3)
9.
Once installation has been completed, it is important to test the direction of the drum rotation.
Interchange the position of the cables connected to the motor terminals on the SAV-EFF to reverse
direction.
10.
Your rocker switch panel (on the dash) should now operate correctly for anchor down and up operation in
standard mode.
2.1 Fast Fall Mode
1.
Due to differences in anchor types & weights, fast fall setup should be done on the water to observe the
operation and adjustments made to suit.
i.
Turn the dial for variable speed setting clock-wise to the maximum setting and change the mode
switch to the fast fall position.
ii.
Operated down and observe the rate of the chain and rope as it leaves the boat, ensure that the
drum does not run faster than the rope and over spool.
iii.
If the drum is running too fast for the chain/rope to exit adjust the variable speed setting anti-clock
wise to suit.
3.1 Winch Model & Cable Size
The following cables listed below must be used for battery to winch motor connections.
Important Note: The following cable sizes must be used.
i.
450W -> 6 B&S (13.6mm²) Cable
ii.
550W+ 1000W -> 4 B&S (20.2mm²) Cable
iii.
1500W + 2000W -> 3B&S (25.73mm²) Cable
4.1 Operating Instructions
1.
To drop the anchor you must go past your mark and put the boat in reverse and idle back.
