Code 39 Bu ff ering (Scan & Store)
This feature allows the decoder to accumulate data from multiple Code 39 symbols.
Selecting the Scan and Store option (Bu ff er Code 39) temporarily bu ff ers all Code 39
symbols having a leading space as a fi rst character for later transmission. The leading space
is not bu ff ered.
Decode of a valid Code 39 symbol with no leading space causes transmission in sequence
of all bu ff ered data in a fi rst-in fi rst-out format, plus transmission of the “triggering” symbol.

When the Do Not Bu ff er Code 39 option is selected, all decoded Code 39 symbols are
transmitted immediately without being stored in the bu ff er.
This feature a ff ects Code 39 only. If selecting Bu ff er Code 39, we recommend con fi guring
the decoder to decode Code 39 symbology only.
Please Note: While there is data in the transmission bu ff er, selecting Do Not Bu ff er Code 39
is not allowed. The bu ff er holds 200 bytes of information.
To disable Code 39 bu ff ering when there is data in the transmission bu ff er, fi rst force the
bu ff er transmission or clear the bu ff er (see overleaf).
