With proper adjustment, the contacts should be as shown in Figure 2 below.

Critical Measurements

If adjustment cannot be made to meet the measurements shown above, follow these steps (see Figure 3):
a. Inspect the screws (A) holding the contact mounts and ensure they are tight.
b. Inspect the mounts (B) and ensure they are not damaged.
c. Inspect the nuts (C) on the contacts and ensure they have flat and lock washers installed, and that they are tight.
d. Older models may have a clip (instead of nuts) and have soldered wires. Ensure they are tight and the solder
connections are in good repair.
e. Replace the lock if any of these items cannot be corrected without making modification to the lock.
