Requirements for maintenance personnel
Maintenance personnel must be thoroughly trained for working with the lifting magnet, must know the content of
these operating instructions and must observe the safety instructions for working with the lifting magnet.
Maintenance personnel for mechanical/electrical systems
Maintenance personnel working with the lifting magnet must meet the following requirements:

Maintenance personnel must have familiarised themselves thoroughly with these operating instructions.
■
Maintenance personnel must be physically and psychologically capable of carrying out the work in connection
with maintenance of the lifting magnet.
■
Maintenance personnel must be properly trained and must be familiar with the lifting systems and safety devices.
■
Personnel must be aware of all hazards in connection with operation of the lifting magnet (see section 2.4).
■
Personnel must be certified for working on electrical systems with 230 V AC power supply.
Maintenance personnel for the lifting magnet primarily have to carry out the following tasks:
■
Checking wear on the lifting magnet
■
Responsibility for safe handling and recording of the load attachment gear
■
Checking completion of continuous maintenance and generating maintenance schedules
■
Carrying out small repairs for the functional surfaces
■
Responsibility for long-term storage of the lifting magnet
■
Weekly and monthly inspections of the lifting magnet
■
Generating maintenance reports
■
Working together with operating personnel and with the person responsible for operating the lifting system
■
Carrying out maintenance on the supply battery, checking the condition through voltage measurements
■
Inspecting the condition of the electrical systems, their function, condition of the buttons, etc.
Specialised maintenance personnel;
equipment for lifting systems/qualified electrician
Maintenance personnel specialised in working with the lifting magnet must meet the following
requirements:

Operating personnel must have familiarised themselves thoroughly with these operating instructions.
■
Maintenance personnel must be physically and psychologically capable of carrying out the work in connection
with maintenance of the lifting magnet.
■
Maintenance personnel must be properly trained and must be familiar with the lifting systems and safety devices.
■
Personnel must be aware of all hazards in connection with operation of the lifting magnet (see section 2.4).
■
Knowledge of the content of the EN 12155 standard
■
Regular training by the manufacturer of the lifting magnet – SAV GmbH
■
Personnel must be certified for working on electrical systems with 230 V AC power supply.
