Operation

Normal operation of a plant with room thermostats and receiver

The radio thermostats transmit the switching commands to control the
channels. These are defi ned during the addressing procedure while
the device is being commissioned. The channel then changes the
output signal according to the commands that are received.

Operating display for the channels

5.1

The operating status of the individual channels is shown by the two
LEDs (green and red):

red LED lit:

Heating ON

Â

red LED off:

Heating OFF

Â

Operation the pump and the protection

5.2

function

The ‚pump‘ output is enabled (red LED lit) as soon as one of

Â

the channels is working.
If none of the channels is working, the ‚pump‘ output is disabled

Â

after a delay of two minutes.
If all the outputs are permanently disabled (e.g. if the plant is

Â

running in frost protection mode), the pump is operated for
about 3.5 minutes after one week so that it does not jam at a
later stage.

Short function tests

5.3

No initialisation must be running when you carry out

  these

tests.

Function test for a thermostat on a specifi ed channel (connection of
outputs, radio connection):

remove the thermostat setting knob and press the key briefl y.

If the signal is received, the assigned channel will invert the

Â

switching status of the output (for a period of about 4 minutes!).

Operating faults

5.4

If no addressing procedure is running, a fl ashing LED indicates

Â

a functional fault on the relevant channel.
Red LED fl ashing: the channel is no longer receiving a signal

Â

from the assigned thermostat. The channel changes over to
frost protection mode (see section 6).

Extended protective functions

Emergency function

6.1

If the channel is no longer receiving a signal from the assigned

Â

thermostat, e.g. if the batteries in the thermostat are fl at, it
changes over to emergency mode after 3 hours. 1/3 on, 2/3 off,
red LED fl ashes quickly.

Motor and pump protection

6.2

If a channel remains inactive for more than a week, the motor

Â

and the pump are automatically operated for 3.5 minutes. This
prevents them from becoming dirty and blocked.

What to do if...

no channels at all are functioning?

Â

the receiver has no power;

check the mains fuse or protective switch.
the teach-in has not been carried out; carry it out (see section 4).

one particular channel is not functioning?

Â

the teach-in has not been carried out; carry it out (see section 4).

the red LED for a channel is fl ashing?

Â

no radio connection to the assigned thermostat; check the

thermostat batteries.
the radio connection might be subject to interference; locate the

potential source of the interference.

the pump is not functioning?

Â

check the cable connection and condition of the pump.

the receiver is outside the transmitter range?

Â

move the transmitter closer to the receiver.

the receiver is subject to interference from other frequencies

Â

(CB radio, TV screen, etc.)?

if possible, position the receiver elsewhere or move the source of

the interference.

the transmitter is in an interference zone?

Â

position the transmitter outside of the interference zone.
