# Switches 1 to 5 are for setting of the Port2. Switches 6 to 8 are for software boot loading. Switches 9 and 10 are not in use.
Close the radio modem carefully. Please note that the four screws of the back cover of 3ASd are
not equally long. The shorter ones have to be mounted to the antenna side. Longer screws break
the display if mounted to the wrong holes.
Enter to the setup mode according to the user´s guide.
Type * (=asterisk) for to enter the factory setup menu
Change the setting of the Port2 to the correct value (same as the switches)
Return to the main menu and check all the other settings to be as required.
Exit the setup mode
Please note that the warranty of the radio modem will expire if the device has been opened by
unauthorised person.
• Other port settings
For Satelline-3AS(d) radio modem the following serial port settings have to be defined for proper data
communication.
Data speed
Data speed at serial port is selectable from 300 up to 38400 bps. Bit rate
over the air is constant and depends only on the channel spacing, i.e.
9600 bps for 12.5 kHz, and 19200 bps for 25 kHz. 3AS(d) link may act
as a data speed converter in the system. Data speed can be set to a
different value at the ends of the link.

None, Even or Odd
Number of stop bits
1 or 2 Start, stop and parity bits are not transferred via the radio. They are
generated at the other end according to the serial port settings.
