ABOUT MP3
This unit can play an MP3 file format written into a CD-RW (rewritable) disc, CD-ROM and
CD-R (recordable).
However, the files and media that can be used are limited, only after thoroughly reading the contents
below write MP3 files to a disc, and the instruction manuals regarding proper use of your CD-R/RW
drive and recording software.
WHAT IS MP3?
• MP3 files are music data compressed using an “MPEG 1/2 audio layer 3” file format.
A file with an “.mp3” extension is called an “mp3 file.”
• This unit cannot play files other than those with an “.mp3” extension.
• A file without an extension cannot be played even if it is an MP3 file.
Also, a file that is not recorded in an MP3 data format cannot be played even if it has an “.mp3” extension
in the file name.
ISO9660 FORMAT
This unit can play data recorded in compliance with the ISO9660 format.
ISO9660 is a common international CD-ROM file format standard as specified by International
Organization for Standardization.
The following media formats can be used with this unit:
• ISO9660 Level 1
• ISO9660 Level 2
• Extended format Joliet
• Extended format Romeo
