Speaker Selection
Select a speaker you want to set up (Front speaker
(Left or Right), Center Speaker, Rear speaker (Left or
Right), Subwoofer).

Certain speaker settings are prohibited by the Dolby
Digital licensing agreement.
Volume
Use

to adjust the output level of the selected
speaker (-6dB ~ +6dB).
Size
Speaker size settings are fixed, you cannot change the
settings.
Distance
If you connected speakers to your unit, specify the
Distance from each speaker to the listener. Try to posi-
tion them so that the sound from each speaker reaches
the listener at the same time (1 ft = 30.48 cm).

You cannot set the distance of the subwoofer speaker.
Test
Press MEMORY/ENTER to test the signals of each
speaker. Adjust the volume to match the volume of the
test signals memorized in the system.

TVGuardian
®
These settings are effective on Tape and DVD playback
with closed caption signals, and when receiving a
broadcast signal or line input signal. To operate the
TVG function during DVD playback, your TV must be
capable of closed caption and the caption mode must
be set to ON.

®
Technology embedded into the VCR will
filter foul language from pre-recorded movies which
have CC (Closed Caption). Words detected by TVG
®
will be muted from the program audio channel, and an
alternate phrase (without foul language) can be dis-
played on the TV screen.
TVGuardian reads the hidden signals for closed cap-
tions, detects offensive language, momentarily mutes
the sound, and displays alternate words and phrases.
TVG does not accept Universal Studio Related software :
• This built-in Foul Language Filter may not work on
some VHS tapes and discs, depending on their
recording conditions. It will not function on Universal
Studio software due to its format difference.
